COFFEE SOWN IN PEACE - The village of Gaitania, Tolima, is seen in the valley of the Río Atá in Colombia. The town produces some of the best coffee in the world, but has a reputation as a haven for leftist guerrillas. For more than 50 years, the people who live here suffered under the withering violence of a conflict between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), a marxist guerrilla group. In 2016, the two sides signed a peace deal, opening up Gaitania to the rest of the world. Since then, its coffee industry has flourished.
